In Final Fantasy XIII, you have to fight your Eidolon (summons) before you acquire them. You don’t just beat them up, either - there are unique requirements in battle for all of them. For this one, Snow has to be a Defender; it’s the fastest way to fill up Shiva’s Drive bar.
